About Me

Susan attended Stanford and Harvard, receiving degrees in International Relations and Public Policy as well as a Fulbright Teaching Fellowship. After returning to Los Angeles, where she was born and raised, Susan attended UCLA Extension Writer's Program and won the program's 2007 Kirkwood Prize.

For the past 20+ years, Susan has worked as a writer, editor, and consultant across a variety of industries including: law, software, cybersecurity, entertainment, healthcare, and education. She also spent three fun, gratifying (if mildly exhausting) years teaching poetry writing in an after school program for elementary school aged soccer-loving kids in Los Angeles.

Starting in 2012, Susan began expanding her writing and editing work to include helping students and professionals prepare essays for a wide range of college and graduate school applications, including several successful judicial applications. Through these experiences, she has found that she truly loves helping people of all ages articulate their unique stories to communicate effectively and successfully.

In her spare time, Susan is an award-winning fiction writer whose work has been published in a number of journals and anthologies and has been performed locally in different venues.

Susan lives in Los Angeles with her husband, daughter, dog, and pet tortoise. She speaks Spanish, French and some very rusty Russian, and has traveled to 38 countries, including several which no longer exist.
